Craig Van Slyke

Craig Van Slyke is the Mike McCallister Eminent Scholar Chair in Information Systems at Louisiana Tech University. Despite his repeated requests, his wife, Tracy, refuses to call him “Your Eminence.” Before moving to Louisiana Tech, he was a Professor of Information Systems and former Dean of the W.A. Franke College of Business at Northern Arizona University. Prior to joining NAU, he was Professor of IT Management, and Associate Dean for Academic Programs at the John Cook School of Business, Saint Louis University. Prior to becoming Associate Dean, he was chair of the Decision Sciences and IT Management Department. He holds a Ph.D. in Information Systems from the University of South Florida. Dr. Van Slyke has published over 30 articles in respected academic journals including Decision Sciences, Communications of the ACM, European Journal of Information Systems and Journal of the Association for Information Systems. His fourth co-authored textbook, Information Systems in Business: An Experiential Approach, had its third edition published in 2018. Craig's first trade book, On Leadership and Life: Essays on Leading and Living Well was published in June 2017. His latest book project concerns Trust-Based Leadership, a human-centered, effective leadership approach he developed. He lives in beautiful, but humid, northern Louisiana with his wife, Tracy, mother-in-law, Nancy, four dogs, two cats, two goats and two horses. In his spare time, Craig likes to figure things out, whether it’s matters of business, leadership, technology, philosophy, or how to build new goat toys.
