Broos Campbell's sea novels concern the triumphs and disasters of Matty Graves, a mixed-race naval officer during the early years of the U.S. Navy. The series tends to be a bit bloody.
In addition to the Matty Graves novels, Broos has published numerous articles and short stories in the alternative press. His current project, The Crazy Adorable Corpses, is about a 15-year-old girl who tries to put her mother's ghost to rest.
He lives with his wife and family in a small seaside city in Southern California, and thinks it's mildly disturbing to refer to himself in the third person.
