Majid Baradar, PE, is a professional civil and earthquake engineering consultant with over four decades of experience. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from the University of Texas at El Paso (UTEP) and is licensed as a Professional Civil Engineer in California and Arizona, as well as a General Building Contractor. His extensive career includes nearly two decades with the California Department of Transportation (Caltrans). A recognized author in seismic engineering, Mr. Baradar's publications include Kaplan/PPI’s California Civil Seismic Principles Solved Problems, California Civil Seismic Principles Practice Exams, and co-authorship of Seismic Design of Building Structures - 8th Edition. These seismic engineering publications have continually been re-published with new editions for over thirty years, demonstrating their enduring relevance and impact. He is a recipient of the Professional Achievement Award from Professional Engineers in California Government for his exemplary contributions to the engineering profession and has demonstrated a strong commitment to educating aspiring engineers in advancing their careers and contributing to earthquake design safety.
