Carl Patrick Burrowes

C. Patrick Burrowes served as the Carter G. Woodson Distinguished Professor at Marshall University in West Virginia and Vice President for Academic Affairs at Cuttington University in Liberia. He is the author of six books on Liberian history and many scholarly articles. Dr. Burrowes delivered the Library of Congress annual Black History Month lecture in 2020. He was featured on Book Break, an interview program with historians that is geared towards U.S. history teachers. In 2021 he found the original land purchase agreement for the first emigrant Liberian settlement which had been missing for almost 200 years. He holds a Ph. D., Communications, from Temple University.
