Stephen J. Pavlidis

Stephen J. Pavlidis has been cruising and living aboard since the winter of 1989. Starting in the Exuma Cays more than 20 years ago, Steve began his writing career with guides to the many fascinating destinations he has visited. Many of his books stand alone to this day as the quintessential guides to the areas he covers.

His books are different than most other cruising guides in some very significant ways. All of the charts in Steve’s books were created using data personally collected while visiting each area using a computerized system that interfaces GPS and depth soundings to produce data that allows him to create extremely accurate digital charts. The charts are so accurate that they have been licensed to GPS manufacturers as well as paper chart publishers to supplement and add detail to the official government-produced charts of regions throughout the Bahamas and Caribbean.

To date, Steve has written 10 Cruising Guides covering the entire region from the Bahamas to Trinidad and Tobago, including parts of Central America. Several of his guides are in their 2nd or 3rd editions.
