Kevin M. McCormick

Capt. Kevin M. McCormick, (1953- ) spent his youth in a small coastal New England town where there were only two ways to go...clam digging or petty thievery. He has spent his life in, on, around, writing about, singing about, building, loving, swearing at, repairing...boats on New England waters. He holds two degrees in marine science from URI, Magna cum laude, and was owner/captain of two New England fishing vessels for 23 years. He currently works in Boston's marine construction industry and tours New England playing music with the nautical folk band, The Leeward Rail Band. His home port is on the North Shore of Massachusetts.

The Freedom Plant, largely autobiographical, is his first novel. His next novel is entitled The Sand Drogher, a mystery set entirely in "The Great Marsh", a pristine 15,000 acre salt marsh that is, for all intents and purposes, his backyard. www.captkevinm.com www.leewardrailband.com
