I am the editor at large of the Maggie-award-winning Aspen Sojourner magazine in Aspen, Colorado, and write regularly for a variety of other magazines. A story of mine on James Bond was published in The Best American Travel Writing of 2009. I have received six Harold Hirsch awards for feature magazine writing and a Lowell Thomas Award for ski writing.

I've also written a book called The Best of the Alps, a photo-heavy travel guide profiling 11 major summer and winter resorts in five countries.

My ebook In the Land of Living Dangerously: Bali, Borneo and Beyond was released by Monsoon Books in May of 2012 and is available on Amazon, of course, and all the other platforms. It is based on travels to Indonensia and Malaysia over the past six years. It centers around close encounters with erupting vocanoes, high mountains, endangered wildlife, corruption, exotic seas, stunning biodiversity and remarkable culture and people.

The Time of the Heathen Rage is my first novel and was released in July of 2013 as an ebook. It is the first book in The Time of Twisted Love series and is about longtime friends and lovers caught up in the world of international drug and nuclear weapons smuggling. Along with other associates, drug dealers, spooks, spy-masters, sheriffs, ex-cons and mercenaries, their stories become central to one of modern life's almost forgotten issues: how to maintain sanity in the nuclear age. This unlikely crew ends up at the center of a showdown that could destabilize the world. And their complicated pasts, intertwined futures, ongoing lusts and twisted loves have a big impact on the outcome.

The next two books in The Time of Twisted Love series will be released by the end of 2013. The second is entitled The Time of the Gold Snake and is about attempts to manipulate world gold markets from Switzerland to Indonesia. The third is entitled The Time of Chaos and is about terrorism and the threat to global water supplies. Both are completed and being formatted now. Two more books in the series, tentatively titled The Time of Zombies and The Time of Twisted Love, are already outlined and being written. Please stay tuned...
