Ron Charach

Ron Charach has written many books for adults but in recent years has five indie children's books which have received glowing Kirkus or Clarion or Goodreads reviews. Each book is gorgeously illustrated and written in witty verse that entertains both young readers, their parents parents and grandparents. The picture book "Lemily by the Sea" extols friendship, "Christopher Sproyngeez and Deedlekin Doll" offers a fun critique of materialism and Who Killed Cock Robin?, a reimagining of the classic English 18th century poem, offers kids a vocabulary around love and loss and the many ways we honour the deceased, while steering clear of being morbid. Ron's first Becky Murphy mystery, set in Kitchener Ontario, is "Robots in the Diner," while the second, to be published in 2026, is "The Stolen City Names". Unlike the usual boxy metal robots, these robots are absolutely lifelike copies of real people that Herr Doppelganger fashions to get his revenge.
