Hi. I'm Steve Whitt and I blow stuff up. Seriously. I work at a science museum where I often use liquid nitrogen, hydrogen gas, and lycopodium powder to make things go kaboom. When I'm not blowing stuff up, I write.

I grew up in Columbus. When I was about three years old, I was walking around a concrete hole in a city park (what we call a "pond") when an ancient snapping turtle stuck up its head and belched at me. I was hooked. I've been fascinated by turtles ever since. I wonder where that old turtle is now?

In "The Turtle and the Universe" I want to show how everything is really one thing. Physics, astronomy, chemistry, biology, those are all human constructions. They're not real. What's real is the one thing, the universe, the place where galaxies and stars, planets and moons, turtles and butterflies, and you and I find ourselves, for what reason we do not know.
