Cynthia W. Gentry

Cynthia W. Gentry loves to write about brilliant, slightly messy women navigating ambition and desire. Her debut novel Her Life in Ruins, a friends-to-lovers rom-com about archaeology and very illicit antiquities, will be published in January 2027 as the inaugural title of akaSTORY, Abrams’ new adult fiction imprint. Her Life in Ruins was selected by Publishers Weekly for the Fall 2026 Romance Preview longlist.

Cynthia is also the author of five nonfiction books on sex and relationships. She holds a bachelor's degree in English from Stanford University and a master’s degree in journalism from the University of California, Berkeley. She lives in the San Francisco Bay Area with her husband and two very needy cats.
