Rita Soltan an experienced children's librarian, worked in public libraries in
both New York and Michigan for more than 30 years. She holds a B.A. degree in Education/Spanish Literature, an M.L.S. from Queens College of the City University of New York, and a Master of Arts in Teaching Reading and Language Arts from Oakland University in Rochester, Michigan. She has conducted numerous workshops for librarians, teachers and parents using literature throughout the curriculum and is currently an adjunct instructor at Oakland Community College. Rita is the author of several published articles on children's services and literature and reviews regularly for Kirkus Reviews, Horn Book Guide, and School Library Journal.
