I'm a Kansas-Florida man, raised first in the heartland but went to HS and started college in Florida, where I still have many friends. I'm retired from the Marines and was a pilot while on active duty. I've read books since high school and of late have turned my hand to writing, which, though a lonely occupation is a great satisfaction. As an acquaintance offers, readers and creative writers are escapeologists, and I concur. Readers and creative writers, as opposed to professional journalist, drift into worlds of part reality and part possibility. It's nice to get away from the everyday, to escape, as many do in other ways.
