Jean Campion

Jean Campion is a Colorado native who grew up in a family of educators hearing the tales of one-room schools and the people who taught at them. She now lives in a rural area of southwest Colorado where she participated in a local history project which collected first person accounts of one-room schools in southwest La Plata County. That research became the impetus for Minta Forever, a historical novel, and its sequel, the recently released Return to Rockytop.

She taught writing at Fort Lewis College in Durango, Colorado, for fifteen years as well as teaching in K-12 classrooms and helping home school several children. She edited the Animas Journal and wrote for publications such as Agri-News and Prairie Times. The Cup of Comfort series of books has purchased several of her pieces and another is in Chicken Soup for the Tea Lover’s Soul. She does freelance editing as well as writing.
