Miroslaw Majewski

Born in Poland. Educated in mathematics – MSc. in geometry, Ph.D. in geometry, and quantum logic.

Former Professor of Zayed University in UAE, and later Professor at the College of Arts and Sciences of New York Institute of Technology. Currently, Professor Emeritus of NYIT.

Many years of research in the geometry of art and technology for mathematics. Author of numerous books and publications (many of them related to the geometry of patterns). Designer of many geometric patterns – some are reconstructions of well-known patterns, and some of them are entirely new.

For years I specialize in Persian and Ottoman arts using geometric patterns and geometry of these patterns. Based on old scrolls of medieval architects and archival documents from Central Asia, I recreated and expanded some old, XV century methods of geometric pattern design. My research is a continuation of the study of famous Russian archeologists and architects – L.I. Rempel and M.S. Bulatov.
