Joshua Corey is a poet, critic, translator, and novelist in love with modernism and with fantasy, with avant-garde poetry and with science fiction. More and more he permits these different genres and subjects to meet and mix with each other in his work!
His newest book, HANNAH AND THE MASTER, is forthcoming in April from MadHat Press. It's a fever-dream of a poetic narrative that centers on the notorious romance between Jewish political theorist Hannah Arendt and her teacher--and lover--the Nazi philosopher Martin Heidegger. In our era of environmental decay and resurgent fascism, their disturbing story has become more relevant than ever.
After years of wandering (in New Orleans, western Montana, the San Francisco Bay Area, and upstate New York) he's found a home in Evanston, Illinois, just outside Chicago, where he lives with his wife and daughter. He is an associate professor of English at Lake Forest College, where he co-directs Lake Forest College Press / &NOW Books.
