Gustavo Daniel Perednik

Gustavo Perednik lectured at more than one hundred towns in fifty countries, and at many universities in the Americas, Europe and China. His main topics are the Jewish contribution to Western civilization, antisemitism (Judeophobia), and cultural history.

He has fifteen books published (five novels and ten essays), many of them translated and awarded international prizes, and more than one thousand articles, which have appeared in several languages and many of which are accessible on the Internet.

Born in Argentina, Perednik has degrees from the University of Buenos Aires and the Hebrew University of Jerusalem, and completed doctoral studies in Philosophy in New York, complemented with courses in the Humanities in the Sorbonne of Paris, Uppsala in Sweden and San Marcos, Peru.

In Israel, where he resides with his wife and five children, he directed the Hebrew University Four-Year Program and the Institute for Youth Leaders. He was distinguished as outstanding lecturer at the Hebrew University, where he taught in several languages. He anchored a weekly TV spot on Jewish thought and tradition, broadcast on the Argentine national channel and on the National TV of Spain.

His book Judeophobia, examines the roots of hatred towards Jews, its development through the ages, and various theories explaining the phenomenon. Its second edition was published in 2001 in Spain, its Portuguese version in 2002 in Brazil, and the Hebrew version in 2005 in Israel. An English summary is available on the Internet.

His last non-fiction books include a trilogy on Great Thinkers who shaped Western civilization, and two books on Jewish history: A Violin on Their Backs and The Motherland was a Book. He authored the exhibition on The Jewish Contribution to the World of Thought, at main venues in several countries (2007-2011).

His book on the Iranian terror attacks in Argentinaand their cover up (To Kill Without a Trace) was published in 2009 by Planeta, the main Argentine publisher. Perednik’s articles have appeared in anthologies and in academic journals of five universities, such as:
