Lawrence N. Berlin

Lawrence N. Berlin, Academic Director of Languages, EAFIT University, Medellín, Colombia. Born (1962) in Vineland, New Jersey, and raised in Minotola, NJ. Graduate of New York University (BFA, 1984), West Virginia University (MA, 1996), and the University of Arizona (PhD, 2000), he has taught English to nonnative speakers in New Jersey (Atlantic Cape Community College), West Virginia (WVU and Fairmont State College), and Arizona (U of Arizona and Pima Community College). Professor Emeritus of Northeastern Illinois University in Chicago, having served as Professor of TESOL; Chair of Anthropology, Philosophy, Linguistics, and TESOL; Coordinator of the First-Year Experience Program; and Director of International Programs. He founded the organization Dialogue Under Occupation, hosting international conferences exploring the themes related to occupation and their resolution through dialogue.
