Sherry C. M. Lindquist

Sherry C.M. Lindquist, PhD, is Professor of Art History at Western Illinois University. She held the Dorothy Kayser Hohenberg Chair of Excellence in Art History at the University of Memphis, 2017-19. She has published widely on topics relevant to art history, gender, museum studies, medievalism, monsters, visual culture, and the history of the book. Her work has been recognized by grants and from the Fulbright, Kress, Mellon, and Getty foundations, the National Endowment for the Arts, the British Academy, and the Yale Center for British Art, among others. Her books include Agency, Visuality and Society at the Chartreuse de Champmol; Meanings of Nudity in Medieval Art; Medieval Monsters: Terrors, Aliens, Wonders (with Asa Simon Mittman); and The Body and the Book of Hours: Somaesthetics, Posthumanism, and the Uncanny.
