Dr. Harry M. Dunkak is an Emeritus Professor of History at Iona College in New Rochelle, New York. He was born in New York City and grew up in the Throgs Neck Section of the Bronx, New York. He is a member of the Congregation of Christian Brothers, a world-wide teaching order of Consecrated Religious, and, as of 2013, has been a member of the Iona College faculty for forty-six years. Among his acccomplishments and positions, besides teaching at Iona College, are: Assistant Dean of Arts and Science for five years, tennis coach for ten years, Iona College Hall of Fame, Director of Study Abroad, and Academic Advisor to Iona's athletes. In his latest publication he has captured the role of John Morin Scott, an important 18th century lawyer, in the beginning of the struggle for independence from Great Britain. Dr. Dunkak has published twenty six studies on local history, concentrating mainly upon Westchester County in New York and New York City.
