I write about English music and theatre of the seventeenth, eighteenth, and twentieth centuries. I have written books about the sound of disorder on the seventeenth-century stage, the role the performing arts played in education in early modern England, and a book about William Davenant and the Duke's Company (the latter with Richard Schoch).
