Anne Spollen

Anne Spollen has three kidults (not quite either), some rescue animals and a whole lot to say. She lives between Staten Island and the Jersey shore, but also travels to New Paltz, NY pretty often where she lived for a long time. Her short stories and poems have been published in many literary journals and she has been twice-nominated for Pushcarts. She has two novels out there right now: "The Shape of Water" and "Light Beneath Ferns" published by Flux.

She has just completed a middle grade novel and is finishing up a multi-genre book about addiction, but not the usual memoir-ish stuff about recovery and triumph. This book focuses on how community, legal and medical resources function far more as enablers than as therapeutic agents. Anne contends that basing our recovery model on the behavior of isolated rats in cages maybe needs to be examined? Or tossed...There's a whole lot more stuff, too.

When she's not teaching college classes, she is writing or reading other writers. You can view some of her stuff here: https://www.clippings.me/annespollen
