Sylvia Rosa-Casanova, is a native New Yorker who was raised on the upper west side of Manhattan. An extremely fussy eater as a child, her mother often encouraged Sylvia to eat by telling her stories over dinner. It was these fanciful tales that fostered Sylvia's love of books, stories and storytelling.
Sylvia Rosa-Casanova's first book, MAMA PROVI AND THE POT OF RICE was a Reading Rainbow selection. It is loosely based on recollections she has of her grandmother. Sylvia's latest book THE STORY OF ZO, richly and cleverly illustrated by Clinton Poy, can best be described as a fairy tale with a twist.
