George Bear is a professor emeritus of school psychology at the University of Delaware, where he taught for 38 years before retiring in 2023. Before then he was a school psychologist in Iowa and Virginia and a school administrator in Virginia. He has written or edited 12 books and over 100 journal articles and book chapters focusing primarily on children's moral development, school discipline, and school climate. He is a recipient of the Lifetime Achievement Award of the National Association of School Psychologists.
