I am the only son of Holocaust survivors from Budapest, Hungary, born in Miami in 1948. I became a registered nurse in 1977, completed my Bachelor's degree at SUNY Empire State College in 1981 and earned my masters in public health degree from New York Medical College in 1988. I have vast experience in a variety of hospitals as a staff nurse, nursing supervisor and operational consultant I have also worked for a managed care organization as vice president for medical operations. For the past 32 years I have been a legal consultant, advising attorneys on more than 1,200 cases. In 2003 I completed my book, Protect Yourself in the Hospital, published by McGraw-Hill. In 2010, I studied the Patient Safety and Affordable Care Act and wrote a book entitled "With Liberty and Coverage for All." I wrote this book after realizing that health care would neither be safe nor affordable. Then in 2012 at the age of 63, while recovering from surgery for spinal stenosis, I decided to get my terminal degree in nursing to be able to make a final contribution toward saving life and limb while reducing health care costs. So, on October 25, 2016, I received my Doctor of Nursing Practice degree and became board certified by ANCC as an Adult-Gerontology Primary Care nurse practitioner. I currently work as Assistant Professor, Miami Regional University, School of Graduate Studies, MSN-FNP program.
