Hello there. I was the Local History Officer for Kingston upon Thames from 1990 to 2001 which is how I got into writing books. I enjoyed it so much I left to become a full time writer in 2001. I wrote the book on Greek Warfare based on my university thesis but my main hobby now is numismatics (particularly 17th century copper!) In 2015 I wrote the one on seventeenth century trading tokens of Surrey and Southwark. I also write local history for the Kingston upon Thames area. For my own reading I enjoy historical detective fiction such as Lindsey Davis and C J Sansom. I also read history books of most periods and children's books! Just William keeps me amused for hours and I am also a fan of Malcolm Saville, and a member of the Malcolm Saville Society. My History of the Christmas Crib has been out for a few years now and has sold well. I have also written a book on Walsingham in Old Photographs which should be out in 2027, and this year my book on Ancient Greek Warfare will be re-released as a paperback. On the numismatic front, I continue to write for Coin News and the Token Corresponding Society and am working on a book of later tokens, tickets and passes of Surrey. I also hope to do a book on Herefordshire tokens, having helped get the book on Gloucestershire tokens published last year.
