Christopher Philip Dingle

Christopher Dingle is Professor of Music at Royal Birmingham Conservatoire. He is recognized internationally as an authority on the music of Messiaen and is also a specialist in research into music criticism. His realization of Messiaen's Un oiseau des arbres de Vie (Oiseau Tui) was premiered at the BBC Proms in 2015 and will be published by Leduc, and his writings on the composer include two monographs and three edited collections. He is editor of The Cambridge History of Music Criticism, and Julian Anderson: Dialogues on Listening, Composing and Culture, a book of conversations with the composer Julian Anderson, was published by Boydell in 2020. He also writes for BBC Music Magazine where he has been on the review panel for over 25 years.
