Robert F. Durant

Robert Durant is Emeritus Professor of public administration and policy in the School of Public Affairs at American University in Washington, DC. He now resides in Marietta, Georgia. Durant has published 11 nonfiction books and over 120 research articles and book chapters. He has received seven book awards, two best article awards, and seven teaching awards. He is the recipient of four lifetime awards for his contributions to public administration and policy research. The four lifetime achievement awards are the Dwight Waldo Award from the American Society for Public Administration, the John M. Gaus Award and Lectureship from the American Political Science Association, the Charles H. Levine Memorial Award from the American Society for Public Administration and the National Association of Schools of Public Affairs and Administration, and the Leslie A. Whittington Award for Teaching Excellence, from the National Association of Schools of Public Affairs and Administration. He is an elected fellow of the National Academy of Public Administration.
