Diane Stegmeier

Diane Stegmeier is founder of Stegmeier Consulting Group (http://www.stegmeierconsulting.com), a globally-recognized leader in workplace change management. Founded in 2002, the 100 percent woman-owned firm has been engaged by diverse clients around the world to significantly reduce workplace costs while improving workforce productivity. She earned an MBA with a concentration in Leading Organizational Change from Kent State University, graduating in the top five percent of all masters / doctoral students of AACSB accredited business programs nationally. Stegmeier is a member of the Association of Change Management Professionals (ACMP), an international organization of recognized thought leaders.

Diane Stegmeier is an alumna of the Leadership for Senior Executives program at Harvard University, and has conducted post-graduate research on innovation and organizational change at a variety of leading institutions including Harvard University’s Kennedy School, Duke University’s Fuqua School of Business, Bowling Green University, and Case Western Reserve University’s Department of Organizational Behavior. She holds a bachelor’s degree in Business from Baldwin-Wallace College with dual concentrations in Business Law and Business Ethics.

Stegmeier is best known for her extensive research on resistance to workplace change and her discovery of the 15 Critical Influences™ impacting behavior in the workplace, success of the workplace strategy, and ultimately, on the achievement of organizational results.

Those research findings were compiled in her book, Innovations in Office Design: The Critical Influence Approach to Effective Work Environments, which was ranked the #1 Workplace Strategy Book by Amazon readers. The author is the recipient of the International Facility Management Association’s (IFMA) Award of Excellence, Distinguished Author for a Book. In the words of Dr. Prentice Knight, former CEO of CoreNet Global, “Diane Stegmeier’s landmark findings on behavior in the corporate setting will prove vital in determining workplace strategy over the next ten years.” Diane Stegmeier was named leader of the Change Management Team for the workplace transformation of the CoreNet association’s global headquarters building, completed in 2011.

The author’s thought leadership on managing resistance to workplace change garners attention from around the globe. Ms. Stegmeier was invited to speak at the Futures in Property and Facilities Management II Conference in London, England. Selected as one of only two speakers representing the United States, she presented to the Futures academic conference her work entitled Critical Influence Systems: Understanding the Key Factors Enabling a Sustainable Platform for Change.

Diane Stegmeier is a faculty member of The Ivy Faculty Consortium. She is a member of the Advisory Board for the Telework Coalition, and the Industry Advisory Board for The Journal of eWorking, published by Merlien Institute in The Netherlands.

Ms. Stegmeier has more than twenty years’ experience in the workplace industry, including ten years with Steelcase Inc., the global contract furniture manufacturer.
