After completing her Bachelor of Arts degree in Bible, Davis embarked on a fulfilling career journey that has taken her through various roles in education and public service. It was during her time working for motivational speaker Zig Ziglar and "The I Can Lady" Mamie McCullough that she found the inspiration to further her education and become a teacher.
Starting out in a 4th-grade classroom, Davis has since taught students of all ages, from preschool to college level. Her diverse teaching experience includes working in both public and private schools, covering a range of grades from Pre-K to 10th grade. She also holds a doctorate from Texas A&M Corpus Christi, with her dissertation focusing on the impact of technology on literacy discourse.
As a tenured professor at A&M University – Central Texas, Davis not only taught undergraduate and graduate courses but also took on the role of Department Chair. Beyond academia, she has made significant contributions in the public arena as well. Her work with the National Alliance for Insurance Education involved training business leaders across the country to teach insurance courses, leading to the development of the High School CISR program. This program was designed to empower students from underserved communities by equipping them with the skills needed for a successful career while still in high school.
Currently, Davis continues to make a difference in her community by teaching at a local school in her hometown. Her passion for education and dedication to empowering others serve as a testament to her commitment to making a positive impact in the lives of those around her.
