Michael Wright

Michael Wright is an internationally renowned poet, fiction writer, playwright, teacher, performance artist, dramaturg and stage director. He has conducted writing workshops in Australia, New Zealand, Singapore, Poland, Greece, Sweden, and Hungary, and for numerous national and regional programs in the United States, including the Association for Theatre in Higher Education, the Kennedy Center American College Theatre Festival, WordBRIDGE, Moondance Film Festival, Oklahoma State University-Tulsa, Tulsa NightWriters and Oklahoma WriterCon.

He is a member of the board of directors for the Circle Cinema, co-founder of the Playwrights' Lab of Tulsa and the Fictional Characters writers' collective.

His writing on Amazon includes the novels Down the Ocean: Summer of ’64, The Chessmen, In the Air, and Shooting the Moon in the Crescent City; the short story collection, Purely Gone and Other Departures; and two poetry collections: Blue Morning Light and Caldera: Collected Poems 1960-2025.
