Bruce G. Carruthers

Bruce G. Carruthers is the John D. MacArthur Professor of Sociology at Northwestern University in Evanston, Illinois. An undergraduate in communication studies at Simon Fraser University in Canada, he received his PhD from the University of Chicago. He works in the areas of economic sociology, comparative-historical sociology, and the sociology of law, and has had visiting fellowships at the Russell Sage Foundation, Radcliffe Institute for Advanced Study, Wissenschaftskolleg zu Berlin, and the Swedish Collegium for Advanced Study. He is married with two children, and lives in Evanston.
