James Vopat

I've been fortunate to travel widely in order to learn first hand about other cultures, English language learning, and teaching around the world. An advocate for naive art, I organize major exhibitions of children's writing, drawing, and sculpture. I live in Three Oaks, Michigan, where I write, draw, and work for social justice. I am passionate in my beliefs that all teachers are teachers of writing, and all students writers. I am anti-landfill and pro-student centered learning. Students, I believe, are the most underutilized resource in our classrooms.
