John C. Mowen

JC's most recent book is Death Benefit$, a novel about a professor/ex-Army Ranger working to take down a murder-for-profit corporation. His non-fiction books include--Judgment Calls: High-Stakes Decisions in a Risky World (Simon & Schuster), The Art of High-Stakes Decision-Making with Keith Murnighan (John Wiley & Sons), and multiple textbooks on consumer behavior. He is a social psychologist and Emeritus Regents Professor at Oklahoma State University. He is a past president of the international organization, The Society for Consumer Psychology. Before his academic career, JC was a Ranger-qualified Army officer. He received the Bronze Star with Oak Leaf Cluster for actions in Vietnam.

JC and his wife have been married for 48 years. She constantly reminds him that he is her first husband. They met after he asked a young woman for a date even though she wore a diamond ring. Surprisingly, she accepted. Then, when her fiancee got an unexpected leave from the Airforce, she asked a friend to substitute for her. They were married 7 months later.
