When I was in college, I told my father I wanted to become an author. He said, "writing is a great back-up skill to have for a real job." He was right. I have been in corporate communications and agency public relations most of my life. I was in my fifties when I wrote my first book, CUSS CONTROL, a light-hearted but thought-provoking book on civility, effective communications, and presenting a positive image.

My wife and I have our own PR firm, and we won three awards for the best publicity program in the country for promoting CUSS CONTROL. I appeared on more than 100 TV shows, including Oprah, The View, CBS Sunday Morning, The Early Show, the Today Show, etc. I was also in hundreds of magazines and newspapers, and interviewed on hundreds of radio stations in 7 countries.
