Katherine Roberts is a part English, part Welsh, fantasy author with a unicorn for a muse! She studied mathematics at the University of Bath, and later worked with racehorses while she wrote her first short stories for SF/Fantasy/Horror magazines. Some of these are now collected in volume form under the series banner 'Ampersand Tales'.
Her debut novel 'Song Quest' (1999) won the Branford Boase Award in the UK, launching her career as a children's author. Her published work so far includes fantasy and legendary fiction for middle grade and teenage readers, an epic historical novel about Alexander the Great's horse ('I am the Great Horse') for all ages, and a YA novel about the teenage Genghis Khan ('Bone Music').
