Richard A. Gerberding

Gerberding's life seems normal to him, but to others it can seem colorful. He is a retired professor of history and director of Classical Studies from the University of Alabama in Huntsville. He built a medieval castle on the banks of the Tennessee River in northern Alabama, has a PhD from Oxford University in England, has done research in the nifty secluded papal parts of the Vatican, served in the US Navy, lived in medieval town in Germany, and is hopelessly opinionated about almost everything. He now lives in Portland, Oregon (go figure) where he does what he can to add to the city's reputation.
