Jason Corburn

Jason Corburn is a Professor in the Department of City and Regional Planning and the School of Public Health at the University of California, Berkeley. Professor Corburn also directs Berkeley's Center for Global Healthy Cities, www.healthycities.berkeley.edu. He is the author of Slum Health (UC Press, 2016), Healthy Cities (Routledge, 2015) and three other award winning books focused on urban health equity: Healthy City Planning (Routledge, 2013); Toward the Healthy City (MIT Press, 2009) and Street Science (MIT Press, 2005). His teaching, research and practice focuses on working with community-based organizations to link public health, city planning and social justice in cities around the world. Jason received the United Nation's Association Global Citizen Award in 2013 for his work on urban health and infrastructure in Nairobi, Kenya.
