Dana Ferris

Dana Ferris (Ph.D., Applied Linguistics, University of Southern California) is a professor in the University Writing Program at the University of California, Davis. She is especially interested in second language writers and readers, teacher education, and how teachers respond to student writing. She is the author or co-author of nine books and over 60 journal articles and book chapters. She is also a frequent conference and workshop speaker. She is the former editor of the Journal of Second Language Writing and was the founding editor of the Journal of Response to Writing.

Dana lives in Davis, California with her husband. When not working, she loves working out, watching sports, especially the San Francisco Giants and Golden State Warriors, cooking, movies, and travel.
