Deborah J. Weir

Ms. Weir has provided marketing, sales and educational services for alternative investment firms since 1985. She has facilitated the growth of some of the most successful money management firms in this sector.

Ms. Weir introduces alternative investments to high-net-worth individuals, family offices, corporations and public pension funds.

Ms. Weir began her financial career at Scudder Investments (now Deutsche Bank) in 1978. She managed institutional fixed-income portfolios for clients such as Rockwell International, the Mayo Clinic, and United Technologies. She managed options and futures portfolios for high net worth individuals and pioneered the trading of derivatives and computerized portfolio management. Her work included portfolio immunization, duration analysis, asset-backed security management, and options and futures trading.

Ms. Weir is a published author and frequent speaker on financial topics.

Futures Magazine, Active Trader and the American Association of Individual Investors Journal publish her articles. She lectures at universities in New York and Connecticut and is on the staff of the NY Institute of Finance. She taught fixed-income courses for Advisors Education Group – an organization that provides continuing education to the finance community. Wall Street professionals; members of the Federal Reserve Bank of NY attended her classes.

Ms. Weir is the author of Wiley & Sons’ publication, TIMING THE MARKETS. This is the first book to use information from the fixed-income markets to facilitate the allocation decision among the major asset classes.

Ms. Weir earned a B.S. degree in education at Miami University in Oxford, Ohio and an MBA with a concentration in finance at New York University. She is a Chartered Financial Analyst and holds Series 1, 7 and 63 licenses.
