Carolyn Handler Miller

I am one of the pioneering writers of emerging media. As a writer, I started out in journalism and screenwriting before moving into the then brand-new field of interactive digital storytelling in the early 1990s. I’m now finishing the fifth edition of my digital storytelling books, and the first volume has just been published. New to this edition are the emerging fields of AI and podcasting, and novel kinds of characters, like bots and social media influencers.

Not all of my life is digital, though. I love equines, and have a particular love for donkeys, adopting two while living in New Mexico. They inspired me to write a children’s book, Puce Takes the Reins, available right here on Amazon. I spend as much time as I can travelling, and have written over 15 articles about my adventures for the experiential travel blog, Your Life Is Trip.

I’m based in the gorgeous wine country of California’s Central coast. I live in an old oak forest with my husband, also a writer, and our cat.
