Greg Bottoms

Greg Bottoms is the author of the memoirs Angelhead (2000) and Lowest White Boy (2019); two books about outsider artists, The Colorful Apocalypse (2007) and Spiritual American Trash (2013); and several genre-blurring collections of essays and stories, including, most recently, Ghosts of My Old Dominion (2026). His writing has appeared in Agni, The Believer, Harper’s, the Oxford American, and in several anthologies, including Words Without Walls: Writers on Addiction, Violence, and Incarceration; The Inevitable: Contemporary Writers Confront Death; and Between Song and Story: Essays for the 21st Century.
