Design Journalist and Collection Editor, Business Expert Press
Vilma Barr’s career has focused chronicling the retail and design industries. She has contributed to such periodicals as Stores+Shops, ArchitecturalSSL, and Architectural Products. Books she has written, co-authored, or edited include Designing to Sell: A Complete Guide to Retail Store Planning & Design (first and second editions); Stores, Promotional Strategies for Design and Construction Firms; Building Type Basics for Retail and Mixed-Use Facilities; and The Illustrated Room:20th Century Interior Design Rendering.
For Business Expert Press, she serves as the contributing Collection Editor for the Business Career Development group of books. Her responsibilities include developing titles with potential authors, assisting with content creation, and evaluating proposals and completed manuscripts for publication.
Vilma received a BS in Business Management from Drexel University, and completed a joint graduate program at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology for Organizational Leadership and in Urban Studies and Planning.
She is a member of the Union League of Philadelphia; a media member of the Retail Design Institute and the International Association of Lighting Designers; an affiliate of the American Institute of Architects; and The Wayne (Pa.) Oratorio Society.
