The Victorian pump with the deadly secret. The cruel murder of a wealthy patriarch in a 19th century Kent village. The mystery disease that killed around 100,000 Athenians in 430 BC.

I love history, am fascinated by forensics and adore thrillers – hence the stories I chose to tell in my first three books. My latest book has a slightly different twist but, I hope, the same fast pace and dramatic storyline. Set against the tumultuous background of the First World War, it follows the struggle of five complex, dynamic and very different women against a criminal justice system that was weighted against them.

Forgotten by history, I have tried to bring them into the light. How well I've managed it is, of course, for you to decide. So, I’m keen to hear your views. Please do get in touch with your comments and questions about Controlling Women or any of my books.
