Mata remembers telling stories as early as three years old. She began telling stories professionally in 2006 when she published her first novel, Forgivin' Ain't Forgettin'. She has also written for the national publications, A Cup of Comfort for Women and The Quiet Hour. Mata is a graduate of Temple University where she earned a degree in Elementary and Early Childhood Education. When Mata is not writing or working with children, she enjoys reading novels, studying the craft of writing, working out, attending garage sales, and spending time with her 18 year old cat. Mata is the mother of one son and lives in Philadelphia with her husband. She is currently writing her next novel.
