David Jacobsen

David Jacobsen is a writer, editor, and teacher. He holds a bachelor’s degree in English from Westmont College and a master’s degree from Regent College (Christianity and the arts) and Seattle Pacific University (creative writing). He believes “the story of any one of us is in some measure the story of us all,” a conviction that shapes his writing—and a phrase of Frederick Buechner’s that he’s fond of stealing. His essays have appeared in various journals and anthologies, and he is the author of Rookie Dad: Thoughts on First-Time Fatherhood. He is represented by Don Jacobson of D. C. Jacobson & Associates. He and his wife have lived in California, Austria, and British Columbia, and now they make their home with their two boys in central Oregon. When not thinking about words, he enjoys mountain biking, pickup soccer, and Oregon’s craft-brew scene, as well as writing terribly compelling bios.
