Jill L Brown was born Jill L Nordin in Minnesota in 1953. She became a registered nurse in Iowa in 1974 and joined the US Air Force. She served on active duty January 1975 - February 1982, active in the reserves one year, and inactive in the reserves 12 years. She has held many professional credentials over the years. Those most relevant to this textbook are RN (registered nurse), CPC (certified professional coder for physicians), CPC-H (certified professional coder for hospitals and facilities), and MPA (certified medical practice analyst).
Jill has enjoyed teaching in private colleges since 2001, and she enjoys developing lesson plans and teaching materials. She has taught medical assistant and medical billing and coding courses. She has also taught review classes for medical coding certification exams.
