Ilan Stavans

Internationally renowned scholar, essayist, linguist, translator, editor, and cultural commentator Ilan Stavans (Mexico, 1961) is the Lewis-Sebring Professor of Humanities, Latin American and Latino Culture at Amherst College, the publisher of Restless Books, the cofounder and academic director of Great Books Summer Program, and a consultant to the Oxford English Dictionary. His work, translated into two dozen languages, has been adapted into film, TV, theater, and radio. He has rendered "Don Quixote of La Mancha," "Alice in Wonderland," and "The Little Prince" into Spanglish.
