John J. Sheehan

John Sheehan has been involved in a variety of business and corporate aviation roles since 1977. Importantly, he has served as a consultant in the field since 1990, working with companies to provide them with safe, effective and efficient on-demand air transportation. His principal area of expertise lies in evaluating corporate flight departments to ensure that their safety, management soundness, and operations and maintenance practices meet federal regulations and industry best practices.

Mr. Sheehan has been a certified auditor for the International Standards for Business Aircraft Operations program since its inception in 2002. He is also the author of the McGraw-Hill book, Business and Corporate Aviation Management, and regularly contributes to industry periodicals and journals. Notably, he has produced and presented a number of workshops for the National Business Aircraft Association on the subjects of flight department management and standards.

He is an experienced pilot and maintenance manager, holding a FAA airline transport pilot certificate and an MBA. His background includes operations as a Navy pilot, flight instructor, charter and corporate pilot and flight department manager.

Mr. Sheehan currently serves as the International Business Aviation Council (IBAC) Audit Manager and lives in Wilmington, North Carolina, USA.
