I am am an academic, consultant, author and speaker in AI strategy, AI-native marketing, and AI-native product strategy. My work centers on how businesses turn artificial intelligence into real value. I am the McCormick Foundation Professor of Technology and Clinical Professor of Marketing at Northwestern University's Kellogg School of Management, where I direct the Center for Research in Technology and Innovation.
Over a career spanning more than three decades, I have advised senior leadership teams at Microsoft, Salesforce, Adobe, and Google, and I have taught more than 40,000 executives across 120 countries through Kellogg's online programs. I have written eight management books and published 58 case studies in the Harvard catalog, 21 of them bestsellers.
My latest book, The Return on AI: From Promise to Profit in the Age of Intelligent Business, written with Ashwin Mittal, gives leaders a practical framework for turning AI investment into measurable profit. My earlier work includes The Sentient Enterprise, a Wall Street Journal bestseller, and Fewer, Bigger, Bolder.
I hold a Ph.D. from the Wharton School and am an alumnus of IIM Calcutta and IIT Delhi. I have also published a collection of poetry, Love, Longing and Loneliness. Beyond my business writing, I explore leadership, meaning, and Eastern wisdom in my Substack publication, The Hidden Weave.
