Anthony Q. Artis

Anthony Q. Artis is a 19-year veteran of the film and TV industry and the author of "The Shut Up and Shoot Documentary Guide" , "The Shut Up and Shoot Freelance Video Guide", and co-host of "The Double Down Film Show" podcast.

Anthony produced director Benno Schoberth’s indie feature, "Shelter", which won the grand prize at the 2003 IFP Feature Market as well as several other festival awards. He was also Associate Producer and Gaffer on the hip-hop documentary, "Paper Chasers" (IFC) which premiered at the Tribeca Film Festival, and he was a Segment Producer for the popular MTV reality series, "Flipped". Over the years he has worked professionally in positions as diverse as producer, cinematographer, gaffer, special-fx make up, sound mixer as well as location manager.

Apart from professional film and television production, as CEO of Down and Dirty DV, LLC Anthony has created dynamic attention-grabbing video projects for a variety of clients and institutions. Additionally, his company has produced a slew of original guerrilla filmmaking seminars, DVD’s, and educational products, including "Indie Film Boot Camp", an intensive 8-hour workshop of filmmaking instruction, now available as a deluxe 6-DVD set.

Anthony currently teaches lighting, camera and audio seminars as an adjunct instructor at the N.Y.U. - Tisch School of the Arts Kanbar Institute of Film and TV, where he also manages the production equipment for all Film and TV students.
